Kent McCarthy is an alumnus of the University of Kansas, where he founded the Applied Portfolio Management class, which he also taught for many years. Kent McCarthy is and has been a significant financial contributor to the University, including its Department of Athletics.
Recently the University of Kansas reported that several of its alumni and current students qualified to compete in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. To attend the United States Team Trials in late June, a collection of track and field athletes comprised of both former and current Jayhawks traveled to Eugene, Oregon.
Those who qualified to represent the United States at the Rio Olympics include Mason Finley, competing in the men’s discus throw, and Andrea Geubelle, competing in the women’s triple jump. Additionally, former University of Kansas student Kyle Clemons qualified for the men’s 4x400m relay.
