Financial professional Kent McCarthy is the president and founder of Jayhawk Capital Management. An alumnus of the University of Kansas, Kent McCarthy has been active at his alma mater’s school of business for nearly 30 years. He co-authored a book detailing the success of the Applied Portfolio Management program he funded and began teaching in 1994.
University of Kansas students have enjoyed a great deal of success in their investment program since inception. The portfolio’s 20-year average boasts an annual return of more than 20 percent, a noticeable improvement over the NASDAQ’s nine percent average in the same time frame.
